ImageStream Routers

ImageStream routers include Eco Series, Industrial Series, and Express Series routers. The Eco Series represents the most efficient routers that are both economical and ecologically friendly. The Industrial Series is ImageStream's first router line, which includes high-performance routers with PCI bus expansion for add-on cards. The Express Series is ImageStream's high-performance router line with PCI Express expansion for add-on cards.

The new Eco Series includes the Envoy, Envoy 1U, and Envoy DSL routers, as well as the new TransPort LE router. These routers are commonly used in premise or customer edge applications depending on bandwidth requirements. The Envoy and Envoy 1U support ethernet, sync serial, and T1/E1 applications, while the new Envoy DSL includes two fixed configuration ADSL1/2/2+ ports for WAN connectivity. The TransPort is the only modular router in the Eco Series, providing one expansion slot for data or voice cards.

The Industrial Series includes the R1 Classic, the R1, and the Rebel, which are powerful routers that include different levels of ruggedization. The Rebel is ImageStream's popular 1U router with two expansion slots at six onboard GigE ports that can forward over 1 Mpps with the optional dual core processor. The R1 Classic is a low-cost, low-power, 2-slot router for extended temperature applications where cooling fans can be used, and the new R1 is an entirely fanless chassis that is ruggedized for extended temperature, shock, and vibration.

The Express Series includes the R1 Express, the Samurai Express, and the Gateway Express. Like the new R1, the R1 Express is entirely fanless and ruggedized for extended temperature operation from -20 to 70 C, but it also provides one PCI Express expansion slot in addition to one PCI slot for high-performance add-on cards. The Samurai Express is ImageStream new 2U router for colo and SoftPBX applications that provides a quad core CPU option, as well as redundant AC or DC power supply options. The Gateway Express comes with different CPU cards and backplane options, including the IX8 which provides a switching PCI Express backplane and dual quad core processors.

ImageStream routers provide industry leading price and performance using ImageStream Linux and mass-produced hardware. ImageStream routers include standard features such as reliable flash storage, high-performance processors, and low-cost commodity memory, with the ability to run ImageStream Linux across all ImageStream routers.

The ImageStream Linux router software distribution includes the Inetics driver component platform. Inetics provides a powerful driver component architecture and L2 WAN protocols that support a wide range of networking applications. The lists below describe many of the network interface options that are available and software features that are included with ImageStream routers.

Industrial Series routers include 12 months of free 24/7 technical support (except for the Envoy), a 12-month warranty on parts and labor, and a 31-day Money Back Performance Guarantee that ensures your ImageStream router will perform in the field as specified in writing. In addition, ImageStream provides free Internet-based software upgrades for life, including newly released product features. The Envoy includes two hours of free technical support during business hours for the first year. Extended Service Plans (ESPs) are also available for all routers.

You could search for a long time and never find a router company that delivers better value at the bottom line. The low cost, guaranteed performance, superior service, and long-term value make ImageStream routers the best choice for many network applications. But if you still aren't convinced, make your own head-to-head comparison, and be sure to check out the page entitled Why ImageStream?
